齒輪泵的概念是很簡單的,即它的最基本形式就是兩個尺寸相同的齒輪在一個緊密配合的殼體內相互 齒輪泵嚙合旋轉,這個殼體的內部類似"8"字形,兩個齒輪裝在里面,齒輪的外徑及兩側與殼體緊密配合。來自于擠出機的物料在吸入口進入兩個齒輪中間,并充滿這一空間,隨著齒的旋轉沿殼體運動,最后在兩齒嚙合時排出。
對于旁路流量控制,不論泵的轉速或工作壓力高低,泵總按預定***值向系統供液,多余部分排回油箱或泵的入口。此方案限制進入系統的流量,使其具有***性能。其優點是,通過回路規模來控制***調整流量,降低成本;將泵和閥組合成一體,并通過泵的旁通控制,使回路壓力降至***,從而減少管路及其泄漏。

為使配油盤的接觸應力盡可能減小和使缸體與配油盤之間保持液體摩擦,配油盤應有足夠的支承面積。為此設置了輔助支承面,如下圖中D5,D6。輔助支承面上開有寬度為B的通油槽,起卸荷作用。配油盤的總支承面積F為,在工作過的配油盤表面常看到在高壓區一側有明顯的偏磨現象,偏磨會使缸體與配油盤間摩擦損失增大,泄流增加,油溫升高,油液粘性和潤滑性下降,而影響到泵的壽命。缸體是一個復雜的受力體,造成偏磨的原因,除了可能有受力不平衡,使缸體發生傾倒。下面就缸體受到的主要力矩進行穩定性分析。
